Rethinking my grid for a better instagram experience.

Instagram, yep it is still king, still one of the top social media apps. And damn is it hard to grow on there. My following grows and shrinks every day, when I reach out to brands for opportunities, followers, followers, followers. Not enough. So then I focused on that. Never bought followers, that is just massively cheating. But, I joined the pods to find other blogs and inspo. Or at least that is what I told myself. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. And then there are the likes. Not enough of them. Ugh, I just can not win.And of course like so many bloggers on instagram, the pods.  Yup. I joined those as did many others I know. But, is it a good thing? And by the way I can not tell you, how many growth posts I have seen on Pinterest that tell you to join the pods and all that. Just wow. But, brands are starting to look at alllllllllll of the numbers. Some may still look at the superficial, but more and more are getting the whitel...

Repurposed dress and fashion history lesson

Image
I had this dress from a local boutique here in Florida. And while I loved it at first purchase, later on it just hung in my closet. See, I never felt the dress looked good on my body. My breasts don’t look right in it and it was not wanting to fit them very well either. It was a size large too. And so I would have to wear a swimsuit top that was a similar lace with it in order for me to wear the dress. And even then it didn’t look right.  So the dress sat there, unworn.  And then after watching some period costumers talk about how people in the past would take their garments and repair them and repurpose them. Many people didn’t have multiple dresses like we do today. Clothes were not mass produced like today. In fact clothing was not mass produced until the 20th century for women.Women’s clothing was ornate and so many still went to dressmakers if middle class or like with lower class ladies altered the dresses at home. That got me thinking, instead of getting rid of the ...

I hate feeling sick and tired.  This whole thing is just annoying. I just want to be well and just want to feel normal. This bladder and kidney infection thing is making my hair pulling harder to control because of it. I am bored because I can not do much without feeling sick. And I swear I feel like I am going crazy. Yeah, crazy. You feel that way because you have been sick for awhile and get scared that it is “all in your head” You feel crazy because of how you feel. You wonder if you really are. At least that is how it is for me.I want to be up and moving not feeling like death when I do! I am still pretty much living in in loungewear, like this set from GAP , but then...

Rust monochrome outfit

Image
What is monochrome? Well Oxford dictionary states noun:  monochrome ; plural noun:  monochromes a photograph or picture developed or executed in black and white or in varying tones of only one color. representation or reproduction in black and white or in varying tones of only one color so this outfit falls into that definition of monochrome. The dress isa rust color and so is the cardigan. I got the cardigan a year ago from Target but I found a cardigan  that matches the rust colored midi dress I bought from Shein . The cardigan is $24.99! The bag is from Gucci but I am renting it from Vivrelle , which is a great company to rent from! Monochrome outfits are going to be going strong I think in spring only in bright springy and summery colors. That and flowy floral dresses. The shoes I have on are these beautiful slides with some gorgeous bling!  And I love my new wig by Uniwigs on Instagram! Parenting lately has been a challenge, a rewarding challenge but a c...
