Quitting the PILL

You see, I have been on one form of the pill or birth control since I was a teen, for unusual periods and bad Cycles and cramps. I tried the Nueva ring before , hated it. And then depo and orsythia was a huge mistake. The side effects were the worst I have ever been through and I went back to orthotricyclin. My tried and true bcp. But,one thing about bcp is when you go on antibiotics it stops working and with anIUD you don’t have to worry about it. Or at least with Paraguard you don’t.

Now there are somethings to think about when getting paraguard. And 1st discuss it with your doctor and ask lots of questions! So, one thing is it is best getting it put in with your period. Yeah, this is for real ladies. It makes it easier for the doctor to place it. Also, it hurts like hell getting it put in. Ok it is not like childbirth, but it still hurts! It feels like you are getting stabbed with a giant needle and there is pressure. The doctor may also do a Pap smear with placement. And then ,there is cramping and pain after that can last 3 days. No sex for 72 hours. And you might have bleeding if not already on your period. The Paraguard lasts for 10 years! And again talk to you obgyn to see if this for of birth control is something that would work for you. Do your research !
I was having a “clueless” moment in this 90’s outfit.
