Don’t doubt that little voice. Wearing Farm Rio

 For years I have been blogging. Years. Since 2009 to be exact and I have always wanted to have that as my career. You know total control over what I post and have flexibility to work around my illness and my kids now. Financial freedom and all at the tips of my fingers. But that didn’t happen. And yeah while watching other bloggers and grammars get successful sponsors and grow while my little space didn’t l, well it hurt. Still hurts. And for anyone to deny that while happy for their blogging brothers and sisters don’t feel a sting of envy is probably lying to themselves a little.yep. 



I had this little voice tell me for a long time that my original blog name was spammy. And after a lot of asking blogging friends and brands actually , I found out they felt the same way. So I changed it to Glamorousandgeeky. I also had self hosting with go daddy(yuck) and well I had to basically start over. Not that it mattered page views were still really low. 

This year I have had nothing but trouble with my self hosted blog. I thought it was just me. No one wanted to read what I had to say. The bad voice was getting louder. Louder that I am failure and my depression while already bad was getting worse. I was posting less and less and feeling worse and worse. Then a voice said what if it is your blog hosting? 

I checked and my blog was on a blacklist due to being on a server with nefarious sites... godaddy ensured us we wouldn’t have that happen again: and it did. And my blog was not doing well. And maybe my content sucked too. 

So then it was just what to do?  My site with go daddy was not letting me create and keeps saying things are missing in the hosting . And so. I decided to give up there for a while and come back to good ol blogger. 

And man I get more views here and it feels good! It feels good that things actually work!!! I love it! So happy! 

I am glad I finally listened to my little voice! You should too!

I absolutely love Farm Rio! I first discovered them from my Rent the runway service and fell in utter love with this luxe brand! The bold patterns and mixt of patterns drew me in! And also the fact that the clothes are mostly linen based and very bold is perfect for Florida. I had to keep adding Farm Rio goodness into my wardrobe and this macaw print mix maxi skirt was one I had to have! And you may notice the socks...I have to wear compression socks now so yeah, my heart condition is so much fun..at least now they make cute ones!

 Today, I was doing laundry and found a newer dress of mine from Halara, it is a athleisure dress, with built in shorts and shelf bra. Getting into Cosplay Orin Work in Progress(wip)

 I am one who loves to sew, loves it. I adore making things like costumes and dresses. I first actually got into cosplay years ago. Well a long ass time ago to be quite honest. Went to one of my first cons, and it was so uncomfortable how grabby some dudes were, that I never went back. Until recently, I really want to go. They look like such fun and Dragon Con is on the top of my list after doing something local like Mega Con in Orlando, FL. I am working on Orin the Red, a cosplay that fingers crossed will be done for Halloween.  Hoping because it is a 3d printed armor, that we are putting a lot of work into. I say we, because it is my husband and I making it. He does the 3d print and I do all the rest.   I once, a long time ago, did not dress how you may have seen me before. I was more of the goth punk type. At least in my teens and very early 20’s. But, alas the constant getting made fun of in school over it. And the not so subtle remarks from coworkers and yes, family. Made it hard to keep dressing like I walked out of Hot topic and Gadzooks.
